Motorola affordable symbol LS-2208 handheld bidirectional scanner from Motorola is a high performance linear scanner at a moderate price point of about Rs. 8000. It is offered warranty against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 5 years (60 months) from date of shipment for virtually eliminating your unexpected repair expenses, provided that the product remains unmodified and is operated under normal and proper conditions.  It is especially designed for continuous usage all day, every day with significantly reduced downtime and repair costs. It provides accurate first time scanning and is always ready for the next scan. Motorola LS-2208 can decode symbologies such as UPC/EAN, UPC/EAN with Supplementals, UPC/ EAN 128, Code 39, Code 39 Full ASCII, Code 39 TriOptic, Code 128, Code 128. Full ASCII, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5, Discrete 2 of 5, Code 93, MSI, Code 11, IATA, GS1 DataBar (formerly RSS) variants, Chinese 2 of 5 at a read rate of 100scans per second typical, scan angle of about 55deg, and scan element frequency of about 50Hz. The interfaces supported by LS 2208 are RS232, USB, KBW (keyboard wedge), Wand, IBM and 468X/9X.

The print contrast ratio and the depth of field are 20% minimum reflective difference and 43cm respectively. The light source used is 650 nm visible laser diode. The hands-free Intellistand enables presentation scanning and easy switching between hands-free and handheld modes with roll, pitch and skew controls. The plug-and-play installation and intuitive, user-friendly design, avoids the need for continuous/extended training of employees and makes the deployment easier. It also supports continuous, heavy usage all day and every day, and includes liquid polymer scan element which delivers integral shock protection to further ensure reliable operation. The integrated multiple interfaces, universal cable compatibility and support for emerging symbologies provide the investment protection you need to help ensure that the scanner will work with all the existing system and also with new emerging systems.
