Performance & Portability

HP Slate 7 Voice Tab was launched in January 2014 for Rs.16300 appx. The HP Mobile Slate 7 VoiceTab is a smart tablet with an extremely sleek and stylish design. The business related and printing apps along with the standard Android OS come as a great boost. You can purchase it if you are looking for a tab which has a large display, supports 3G connectivity and is quite impressive in terms of performance.

The HP Slate 7 Voice Tab is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) tablet that accepts Regular and Micro-SIM. One of the greatest advantage in this tablet is that it’s second SIM offers free 3G data. The HP Slate 7 Voice Tab runs on Android 4.2 and is powered by a 4100mAh non removable battery. The 4100mAh battery offers talk time up to 10 hrs. It will last for couple more hours with minimal usage on Wi-Fi. It is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Marvell PXA1088 Processor chipset and it comes with 1GB of RAM. Apps open quickly and there was no obvious lag when scrolling through homepages or menus. The tablet packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Background apps might drain the battery, so make sure you put the system to auto sleep if you are not using the tablet for more than few minutes. Connectivity options come in the form of 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE and GPS/AGPS.

Display & Design

HP Slate 7 is a good looking tablet which is also easy to carry around mainly due to its light weight (325 gram) body. It is thinner, lighter and designed for the way you move. The next generation HP 7 was precisely shaped to fit in your palm, pocket and wallet. The vibrant 7” IPS display keeps the picture sharp from practically any angle. The Dimensions are (Height x width x thickness) 189 x 115 x 9.5 mm. The screen resolution is of 1280x800 pixels, 216ppi and LCD with 16M colors. Colours look vivid and viewing angles are good. Text and graphics look crisp and sharp. Black levels were also good.

Camera & Multimedia

HP slate 7 features a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. The cameras are nothing great to talk about but can click average quality shots in both daylight and artificial light. The rear camera does not come with an LED flash so it's not possible to click acceptable pictures in low light conditions. The camera is capable of recoding HD videos, but again the quality is not that great. The front camera can be used for video conference calls and does a decent job , but don't think about clicking a selfie.

The multimedia features supports E-mail, music player, video player and FM. The alert types are vibration, polyphonic, MP3. Sensors on the tablet include accelerometer, proximity sensor, thermometer, grip sensor, humidity sensor, UV detector, altimeter sensor, and barometer.

Unique features

Multi-tasking, 2d / 3d graphics gaming, dual front firing speaker, integrated voice receiver, video streaming, 25 gb lifetime free cloud storage, pre-loaded android apps, wechat, and skype.
